Running

As my two loyal readers have noted, there has been a dearth of pictures around here. Simple explanation: we haven't had an operational camera for about six weeks. We've finally remedied that, and thank goodness, because I can't honestly remember what we have been doing in the last month and a half.

Around the turn of aught-nine I made a goal list for myself and it seems like now would be a good time to check in and see how those goals are panning out.

10. Paint (upstairs hallway, bathroom.)
Not even close, though I have thought about it.

9. Organize (pictures into books.)
Nope.

8. Finish ((start) both girls' first year books.)
Not yet.

7. Re-design (office.)
Ooo, finally. We have some new shelves and some ideas.

6. Make ( gifts.)
Do valentines count? Jilli and I have been working on some homemade ones for her friends.

5. Sew (slipcovers, quilt, clothes.)
Ha.

4. Read (one book a month.)
I finished Middlesex in January (I won't record when I started it...) I am about 200 pages into The Pillars of the Earth now, maybe I'll finish it in Febrtuary. (Note to self: start 2nd month goal with SHORTER THAN 900+ pages book).

3. Bake (bread.)
I did it! One loaf!

2. Eat (less french fries.)
Hmmm. We have eaten many more meals at home lately and have avoided fast food, but I've still consumed a few (dozen) french fries here and there.

1. Run (5k, March.)
I don't think I am going to make it in the 5K. However, I have started (yesterday) a very sophisticated running programme (Couch Potato to 5K in Two Months). I have high hopes.

Not bad....

You make me laugh so hard. I read this twice and laughed even harder the second time around. And I had to think for a second about what "dearth" meant. Oh my!

OK, seriously.... In my world a 900+ pager is 2 books in one. And I feel you on the camera, thank goodness my cell phone has one or I would have been lost too!
